Danny M. Campa, Ed.S. is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and Psychology Intern at The Center for Family and Lifespan Development and The Center for Psychological Health. He is currently working on his doctoral degree at the school psychology at the University of Washington. For the past five years, he has conducted social-emotional, cognitive, and academic assessment as a researcher and school psychologist for Rainier Scholars, a non-profit educational organization, which serves adolescent students of color in Seattle. Here, he also supervises and trains graduate students in administering standardized evaluations. Danny completed a masters-level internship in the Edmonds School District and completed school psychology work at all levels of the school-system, with a majority of time spent in the high school environment. As a graduate student, Danny worked with the Committee for Children on the Second Step Efficacy Study, conducting achievement and behavioral assessments in the Renton, Federal Way, Lake Washington, and North Kitsap School Districts. He has worked as research associate and mental health support at The UW Robinson Center for Young Scholars, an early-entrance program to college for highly capable students. He was responsible for providing social-emotional and mental health support to students as well as organizing and leading interactive parent programming to families and the community. Currently, Danny serves as Assistant Director for the APEX Summer Camp Program, a behavioral treatment program run by the UW Autism Center. During a five-week intensive summer session and a weekly booster program, he trains counselors and provides behavioral and social-emotional support to over 80 children with autism and their families. Danny’s research interests include school-based mental health, multi-tiered systems of supports in schools, social-behavioral intervention for children with Autism, gifted and twice-exceptional students, and school-home collaboration.
